Using Tropical Art Prints in your interior design.

How to decorate your walls with tropical prints

Art prints can have a transformative effect on the mood of an interior, infusing it with an atmosphere that reflects your style. Tropical wall art, with its vibrant colors and exotic motifs, can transport you to far-off paradisiacal shores, evoking a sense of relaxation and wanderlust. Reminding us our recent travels or perhaps places we plan on visiting. But how do you incorporate these uplifiting prints into your interior without getting jungle theme overload?

Decorating With Tropical Art – Where To Start

Whether it's a bold, tropical-themed animal print that adds a splash of energy to a living room or a series of delicate botanical illustrations that bring a touch of elegance to a bedroom, art prints have the power to revitalize any space, immersing its occupants in a world of natural beauty and tranquility. So how do you use chose your wall art so it doesn’t overpower an interior? Here are some beautiful ideas for decorating with art.

Think About Scale

I love a large scale giclee print - such a cost effective and quick way to bring a bit of wow to a room. Increasingly we are finding customers opting for bigger wall art in their living rooms - at least A3 size.

Displaying a large colourful print in a childrens room is a fun idea too - who wouldn’t want a big jungle picture on their wall when they’re little!

However, large doesn’t suit every space and sometimes a series of smaller prints is what’s required in a more intimate room such as a bedroom or nursery. Guest bedrooms for example, where you might want to create an atmosphere more conducive to sleep, may not require that roaring leopard print you love so much!

Immerse yourself in a wall mural

If you’re looking for real impact in your interior, wall murals and bespoke print panels are a fabulous option. Available printed to your exact requirements, making installation super easy, we can provide them as single panels or a series to cover a feature wall. Printed onto wallpaper, the artwork is easy to hang and looks amazing - particularly in a hallway or living space. Not for the faint hearted though as they are not as easy to change as framed print!

A favourite spot for these panels is on the largest wall in a living room or behind/ above the sofa. Hallways are also a great space for bigger artworks as the viewer can stand back to take it in properly. Use these panels confidentaly and you will have a fabulous focal point in your room

Create A Gallery Wall

One of the best ways to create a focal point in a room is to create a gallery wall of art. This has the huge benefit of being easy to change and cost effective. You could chose prints based on a specific colour palette, subject matter or style. Perhaps mix textural pieces with more graphic designs. You could chose to display prints in the same style frame or have different, eclectic designs - perhaps adding some vintage frames too. The ideas are endless and I recommend Pinterest for lots of inspiration!

I would recommend laying out your display on the floor before you hang your prints!

Set the mood of your room

When buying your art prints, considering the mood you want the room to have is a great starting point and can help in narrowing down your search. The lush greenery and stunning fauna depicted in botanical art can breathe life into a space, creating a calming and refreshing atmosphere reminiscent of a serene garden retreat.

Alternatively a large mural of a roaring tiger can be bold and beautiful and bring your interior design together. You could pick up details from the print in your soft furnishings, perhaps with a leaf theme or similar colour.

Take into consideration the frames you chose too. Displaying your prints in simple, classic gold frames, for example, can look elegant and stylish. Perhaps you don’t want a frame and would prefer a more modern approach of a canvas with no frame.

For The Renters!

Art prints can transform a room but what happens if you’re renting your property and don’t fancy drilling holes in your walls that will need refilling? The simple answer is to prop them up or use command strips. Frames can be placed on shelves, in bookcases or on top of side dressers - just be careful not to scratch any surfaces. I haven’t used Command Strips yet but many of my friends swear by them. Available in lots of shops, including Amazon, they come in different sizes for weightier frames too.

Even if you are not a renter, having a special art print as the focal point to a room is a great alternative to that ugly TV. Propping an art collection on a mantle piece or a single print on a cabinet can be a much more stylish option.

Plus, if you are like me and like to change your artwork all the time, the shelf options allows you to quickly access and swap your wall art around.

Have Fun with your art prints!

Finally my best bit of advice is not to worry too much! Art can be changed as your taste and style changes. There is nothing that can’t be undone so relax, have a play and enjoy your collection!
